Meet Annette

I GREW UP AROUND PHOTOGRAPHY…

Some of my first memories as a kid are posing in front of the camera at my dad’s photo studio in Miami, FL, back when film was rolled and every shot counted. I watched him develop negatives in the dark room and learned as my mom posed clients and rounded up groups at weddings. And although my artistic pursuits in performance work took me in a different direction, spending the better part of my 20s in NYC, the art of photography was always something I was passionate about and continued to harness. 

After spending enough time in front of the camera, I understood how clients wanted to feel: relaxed, free, empowered, gently guided into flattering poses and angles, all while having a great time, and it’s something I aim in providing and communicating to my clients on every shoot.

As a self-sufficient Virgo, I began dabbling in editing after shoots when I felt a photo had more potential. And after diving into the world of Photoshop, I found myself editing for my artistic community in NYC. Having to market myself and others gave me the experience and tools to expand my work into graphic and web design.

And so, Navarro Photo & Design was born, representing my family name as a second generation photographer and designer.
